Danses traditionnelles de la Côte d’Ivoire
Dwelling in the east of the Ivory Coast in the province of Comoé, the Agni have preserved their ancestral society in which the king and his notables still possess real authority. Dance is their favoured form of expression and the kinyankpli great drum is one of the symbols of royal power.

The Ekonda practise a polyphony that is most strongly expressed in the bobongo, in which ritual and spectacle are combined. An unusual form is employed for the conclusion of a woman’s initiation when her first child is born; this is the subject of the second CD.
